funding is a very important consideration in the City being able to deliver these projects in a timely fashion, and respond to the changing demands of our vast transport network,” Mr Ng said.

More than $25 million had been allocated through the Black Spot Program to upgrade 117 locations throughout WA, with 63 roads in the metropolitan area and 54 regional roads to benefit.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said the program was delivering real safety benefits to road users.

“Since its inception in 2000, the Black Spot Program has delivered almost half a billion dollars in specific safety initiatives on the WA road network,’’ she said.

“The program aims to further improve road safety across the state, reducing the significant trauma and suffering of crash victims and their loved ones by targeting sites with a proven crash history or those with a high risk.”
