CANNING Vale College unveiled its $2 million upgrade last week.
The works, which began last June, were officially opened last week by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery.
The new and refurbished school facilities include a modified extension to the existing boardroom, new student services wing, covered walkways, new playing courts and extra parking spaces for 20 cars.
Principal Paul Bottcher said the new facilities further guaranteed that the school would remain the school of choice for those in Canning Vale.
“The new student engagement and support space has allowed us to continue our specialised focus on improving students’ social and emotional wellbeing so that all students can achieve to the best of their ability and create a successful future,’’ he said.
“The increase to the sporting facilities has included eight multicourts, which will guarantee many more students can participate in healthy physical activity at any one time.”
Canning Vale College is one of 20 secondary schools that has been rebuilt or upgraded under the State Government’s public schools infrastructure package.
“Students at Canning Vale College benefit from specialist teachers plus a variety of subject choices and these new facilities offer every child the best chance of achieving at the highest level,” Ms Ellery said.
