RIVERVALE resident Jade Azor is about to play a special role in an upcoming wedding; on stage, that is.
She’s appearing in Secret Bridesmaids’ Business at Roleystone Hall this October as one of the bridesmaids.
Written by Elizabeth Coleman and directed by Michelle Ezzy, the popular comedy hinges on a lie that could change everything and whether the bridesmaids should reveal a secret about the groom.
Jade plays Lucy, a fierce friend to those close to her.
“She’s completely unafraid to be who she is and, if you come for Lucy or one of her loved ones, you should watch out,” she said. “But underneath it all, she’s really a softie.
“Lucy spends a good amount of the play trying to decide whether or not to reveal a big secret, so there are multiple layers to every conversation.”
Involved in theatre and music since primary school, Jade spent a year at a London drama school before performing in three productions with the Islington Players.
After a four-year hiatus, Secret Bridesmaids’ Business marks her return to the stage since moving back to Perth.
“I love the way the characters interact with each other,” Jade said.
“At first glance, they all seem to be a certain way but there’s actually more to each one of them.”
Secret Bridesmaids’ Business plays at 7.30pm October 11, 12, 18 and 19 with a 2pm matinee October 13. Tickets are $20, $15 concession, book at www. roleystonetheatre.com.au.
