VIC­TO­RIA Park Xavier hockey player Rachel Frusher has been named Pre­mier League Hockey’s best fe­male player.

Frusher took out the pres­ti­gious Charleswor­th Medal at a gala night at Fraser’s Func­tion Cen­tre in Kings Park.

Melville’s Tim Geers won the Olympians’ Medal as the best male player in the league.

El­iz­a­beth Duguid, of Wes­ley South Perth, was named fairest and best goal­keeper. Chantelle Cial­lella, of Curtin Univer­sity, was the top goal scorer in the women’s league with 19 goals.

West Aus­tralian dual Olympian Emily Halliday was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Cham­pi­ons. Halliday com­peted in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, 2008 Bei­jing Olympic Games and won gold with the Hock­ey­roos at the 2006 Com­mon­wealth Games.
