In a league of her own
VICTORIA Park Xavier hockey player Rachel Frusher has been named Premier League Hockey’s best female player.
Frusher took out the prestigious Charlesworth Medal at a gala night at Fraser’s Function Centre in Kings Park.
Melville’s Tim Geers won the Olympians’ Medal as the best male player in the league.
Elizabeth Duguid, of Wesley South Perth, was named fairest and best goalkeeper. Chantelle Ciallella, of Curtin University, was the top goal scorer in the women’s league with 19 goals.
West Australian dual Olympian Emily Halliday was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Champions. Halliday competed in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and won gold with the Hockeyroos at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
