Man ex­tra­dited over ter­ri­fy­ing his­tor­i­cal sex at­tack

A MAN has been ex­tra­dited from New South Wales over a ter­ri­fy­ing sex­ual as­sault in Beck­en­ham al­most 20 years ago.

Cold Case Se­ri­ous Crime Squad of­fi­cers charged Michael James Boxsell (54), of Coota­mundra, over an as­sault at Beck­en­ham train sta­tion in 1990.

Po­lice al­lege that on March 10, 1990, the man ap­proached a 17-yearold girl and 19-year-old woman at the sta­tion, wear­ing a bal­a­clava and armed with a gun.

He al­legedly grabbed both women and dragged them into bush­land be­fore sex­u­ally as­sault­ing the 17-year-old.

He was charged with de­pri­va­tion of lib­erty, sex­ual pen­e­tra­tion with­out con­sent, ag­gra­vated in­de­cent as­sault and go­ing armed in public to cause fear.

He ap­peared in Perth Mag­is­trates Court on September 28 and was re­manded in cus­tody.
