Man extradited over terrifying historical sex attack
A MAN has been extradited from New South Wales over a terrifying sexual assault in Beckenham almost 20 years ago.
Cold Case Serious Crime Squad officers charged Michael James Boxsell (54), of Cootamundra, over an assault at Beckenham train station in 1990.
Police allege that on March 10, 1990, the man approached a 17-yearold girl and 19-year-old woman at the station, wearing a balaclava and armed with a gun.
He allegedly grabbed both women and dragged them into bushland before sexually assaulting the 17-year-old.
He was charged with deprivation of liberty, sexual penetration without consent, aggravated indecent assault and going armed in public to cause fear.
He appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on September 28 and was remanded in custody.
