Locals play a part in park makeover
LOCAL residents have driven the makeover of a popular Willetton park.
The City of Canning unveiled improved facilities at the park, which began after a request from local Shiela Su.
Ms Su was keen to see the ageing playground replaced and a survey to find out exactly what facilities the community would like to see attracted more than 100 responses. This included youth and adult exercise equipment, a double zip line, climbing net and wall, balance beam and rope climber, as well as additional tables and benches with wheelchair accessibility.
“The City of Canning has done a great job in listening, the project was well managed and delivered on time,” Ms Su said.
“The new play equipment has been fantastic; it's such an improvement to the playground with heaps of kids there now.”
Canning Mayor Patrick Hall said it was fabulous to see enhancement of the park had already resulted in a significant increase in its use.
