Festive season a hit with Piepa

Canning Gazette - - CHRISTMAS IS COMING - Keren Bellos

IT truly is the most wonderful time of the year for Perth Scorchers WBBL bowler Piepa Cleary.

The 23-year-old was full of festive cheer when Community News caught up with her as she recovers from a leg injury sustained during a game last month.

“I put my tree up in November as I was so excited,” she said. “I love all the lights, presents and have watched many Christmas movies already.”

Her favourite Christmas memory dates back to when she was just 10, spying what she thought was Santa guiding his sleigh in the sky, while her wish is to one day celebrate a white Christmas.

She counts a Dyson hairdryer as the best gift she’s ever received, having put it to good use.

Piepa is planning to spend the big day next week with her family, eating plenty of food. She's likely to enjoy a game of backyard cricket too, as well as catch up with the girls during the break.

Come Boxing Day, she will be watching all the Test and Big Bash League cricket action on Seven.
