Su­per­mar­ket staff at­tacked in theft

PO­LICE are search­ing for three peo­ple who as­saulted a su­per­mar­ket em­ployee af­ter they at­tempted to stop them leav­ing without pay­ing for a trol­ley full of goods. Po­lice said the man and two women en­tered the High Road River­ton su­per­mar­ket about 1pm on De­cem­ber 17, fill­ing the trol­ley be­fore at­tempt­ing to take it through a self-ser­vice counter. While the man made a scene, the women pushed the trol­ley out of the store but were stopped by staff. The man then took off his san­dal and as­saulted the em­ployee be­fore leav­ing empty-handed. Po­lice have re­leased CCTV images of two women and a man who they be­lieve may be able to assist them with their in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
