Curtin call for new players
CURTIN University Football Club will hold trials this month as it prepares to take part in the inaugural National Premier League (NPL) WA women’s competition.
The competition, which was announced late last year, will become Football West’s flagship competition for female football.
Club vice president Payam Golestani said everyone involved was delighted with the invitation to compete in the league.
“This highlights our real commitment to female participation in soccer as a club,” he said.
“It reinforces our belief in maintaining our ongoing commitment to junior female development program comprising all girl players as young as seven years of age.
“Last year, for the first time, we had a whole girls team in junior age group competing admirably against the mainly boy teams.
“We have several dedicated female coaches in our club who play in state metro league and also coach the all girls teams.”
