THE City of Can­ning’s Mid­week eats was launched last week at River­ton Re­serve and will run un­til Fe­bru­ary 20.

Visi­tors can tuck into a va­ri­ety of foods from around the globe, with a dif­fer­ent theme each Thurs­day.

The Kids Vil­lage has a range of ac­tiv­i­ties, while mum and dad can en­joy din­ner with a glass of wine on the grass. Can­ning Mayor Pa­trick Hall said the event brought the whole fam­ily to­gether. “What bet­ter way to spend a balmy sum­mer night than sit­ting on a blan­ket un­der the stars with your fam­ily, neigh­bours, friends (and your dog) ex­pe­ri­enc­ing flavours and cuisines from around the world?’’ he said. Held be­tween 5pm and 9pm, bring a pic­nic blan­ket and chairs or get in early for a pic­nic ta­ble or bean­bag.
