Film night to raise fund for fire victims

TWO films for all ages will be screened at Cannington Exhibition Centre and Showground­s later this month to raise funds for victims of the devastatin­g Wooroloo bushfires.

Movies for Wooroloo will feature The Lego Movie from 2-5pm and Spiderman: Into The Spidervers­e from 6-9pm, with Canning Show entertainm­ent, activities, food and fundraisin­g fun before and during the films.

DJ and MC Snake Mountain will host the event alongside themed roving characters, stalls and activities raising money for charitable group Blazeaid, with all proceeds going to assist communitie­s affected by the fire.

The Wooroloo bushfire destroyed 86 homes early last month and the estimated value of losses is expected to exceed $40 million.

Tickets are $15, $10 concession, with people encouraged to bring picnic blankets, beanbags or seating for the screening inside the exhibition centre. People are also invited to dress up for the event.

A limited number of ‘VIP Superhero Family Passes’ are available for $100, including four tickets to the session of choice, four tickets to the next Canning Show, VIP placement in front of the screen, parking, popcorn, sausage sizzle and showbag.
