LOOKING for a hard-tofind AFL player card or vintage comic? Perhaps you are just searching for second-hand furniture or jewellery.

You could be in luck this weekend as the eighth annual Garage Sale Trails gets underway.

More than 30 Canning households, schools and community groups will join 400,000 people across the country on October 20 and 21 to host garage sales.

It is expected that this year’s weekend-long event will involve more Australians than ever before, who will choose to reuse at more than 15,000 garage sale events nationally.

Canning Mayor Paul Ng said the Garage Sale Trail was a fun and social way for the City to encourage reuse and help educate the community about taking responsibility for waste.

“The City of Canning is on an ongoing journey towards more sustainable practices and processes, including events,” he said.

“As well as providing an outlet to de-clutter and raise money for yourself or local causes, Garage Sale Trail is a great way to meet your neighbours and connect with the community.”
