Willetton add Moe star power
AMERICAN Moe Barrow will bolster Willetton Tigers’ assault on the State Basketball League title in 2019.
Barrow spent last season with the Perth Redbacks, where he averaged 16 points and six rebounds per game, and was named in the SBL’s All Defensive 5 for the third straight year.
The 196cm import has built a strong reputation in his three years in the league, including two with Geraldton Buccaneers.
Tigers head coach Stephen Black said the 26-year-old’s rebounding and ability to defend all positions on the court made him an excellent acquisition.
“He brings the toughness, defensive presence and play making ability that will be extremely important for our team success this season,” Black said.
“He is a great professional in how he goes about his basketball and I can’t wait to work with him. I see Moe having a big role in what we do at both ends of the floor this year, giving us the versatility and poise that we need.”
The Tigers made the first week of finals last season but were swept out in straight sets by eventual runner-up Joondalup.
