Bancroft boosts Burrendah bash
WILLETTON Cricket Club have an afternoon of top shelf Twenty20 cricket lined up for punters this weekend.
The club will host four games, featuring their 15s, 17s, colts and senior team in back-to-back Twenty20 games at Willetton Sports Club.
The 15s and 17s will start at 8.30am, on parallel pitches, before the colts side takes the Burrendah field at 11am.
Then, the club’s Premier cricket side, with Cam Bancroft and promising bowler Aaron Hardie, will play the marquee match from 3pm.
Club president Ron Kukura said the day would give cricket fans a chance to check out their high-flying first graders.
“There’s some local players like Bancroft, Hardie and Simon Mackin, who have been part of the cricket club and have been doing well for a while,” he said. “It should be fairly friendly and when there’s Twenty20, there’s normally a fair few sixes being hit.”
Willetton stars Will Rhodes and Cam Bancroft.
