THE City of Canning hosted people of all abilities at Cannington Leisureplex for a free open day to celebrate the 26th annual International Day of People with Disability on December 3. The community event served as the launch for WA Disabled Sports Association’s (WADSA) Opening Mainstream Doors program, which will run at both Riverton and Cannington leisureplexes. Participants tried out interactive circuits, games and exercises to get a taste of the program, which will enable people with a disability to participate in land and aquatic activities. City of Canning Mayor Paul Ng said the City received a $1000 grant from the Department of Communities for the event.
