Young gun: Riverton’s new RSL president
NEW Riverton RSL subbranch president Major Trevor Hogan has outlined his vision for the sub-branch’s future.
Maj. Hogan, who retired in 2014, studied at the Royal Military College and was a Company Second in Command in the Second Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment and Officer Commanding Three Squadron of the Pilbara Regiment.
He now works as a senior leadership and management advisor in the business sector and volunteers with the Australian Army Cadets and State Emergency Service.
Maj. Hogan said the main objective was to steer the sub-branch in a positive direction.
“We will be re-establishing our close relationships with community and service organisations in the district, increasing our interaction with local schools and ensuring our continued support to our affiliated defence cadet units and scout groups,” he said.
“Most importantly, our ethos will be based on the three pillars of the RSL: veteran welfare, commemoration and community engagement.”
