Nine level agreed
A nine-storey development featuring apartments, restaurants and offices has been approved in the heart of Cannington.
CANNINGTON’S upgraded city centre is another step closer to fruition after a Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) approved amendments to a nine-storey development on Cecil Avenue.
The large-scale mixed development will feature 53 units, two restaurants or cafes and four offices and is situated across the road from Westfield Carousel.
It will also have three levels of car parking and communal space for residents.
A Metro Central JDAP previously approved the application in May, prior to a number of conditions.
The City of Canning initially did not support the proposal and requested amended plans and additional information.
However, after reviewing the amended plans the panel, which included Canning councillors Margaret Hall and Sara Saberi, approved the proposed amendments, which mainly suggested internal changes to vehicle ramps, car parking areas, layout of multiple dwellings and landscaping.
