It’s that time of year again, the month we’ve been waiting for all year – Holidays with Kids’ Caravanning and Camping flip issue is here with everything you need to know before you set off on your summer holiday adventures.

Most excitingly this issue are our Readers’ Choice Awards – the definitive list of Australia’s Top 10 Holiday Parks. This state-bystate guide of holiday park favourites is voted for you, by you. We were overjoyed to be inundated with votes – the HWK team has counted every single one, and put them together to create the perfect go-to- guide when planning your next getaway.

At HWK we love camping so we’ve dedicated some space in this issue to converting all our cherished readers who are yet to bite the bullet, hammer in the tent pegs and enjoy the wonder of sleeping in the great outdoors. A novice camper herself, Maddie Hoskins from the HWK team was converted on a recent trip, and she has written a Camping 101 list that will make sure you’ve got all you need for a comfy camp- out. We’ve also tracked down the campfire recipes that are sure to put a smile on everyone’s faces – big and small – and some valuable tips from the real experts out there – our readers.

Lucky staff member, Amelia Hungerford, takes you on a tour of Tassie staying at Discovery Parks along the way. We go on a 4WD adventure at NSW’s Clarence River and discover the joys of Victoria’s high country, while experienced hiker, Ken Eastwood, takes us on some fantastic walks for families. Lastly, we jump on board with some of the best places to hire a houseboat on some of Australia’s most picturesque rivers.
