Grampians Peaks Trail opening in 2020

-

Parks Victoria has completed the first phase of the 160-kilometre Grampians Peaks Trail in Grampians National Park, set to open in 2020. The first 60 kilometres have been upgraded with handbuilt sandstone steps. According to Parks Victoria, the number of walkers using the trail is expected to be over 34,000 by 2025. The trail can be done in one 13-day journey or in sections, making it suitable for families. The North Experience, opening September 2019, is a three-day hike from Dead Bullock Creek to Halls Gap. The South Experience, also opening in September, is a three-day hike from Cassidy Gap to Dunkeld. The next phase involves building the remaining 100 kilometres, plus 10 hiker camps and a school groups' camp. parkweb.vic.gov.au
