Agri­cul­ture net­work transport work­shop

THE first meet­ing of the North Bur­nett Ag Net­work was held in Eidsvold on May 3 and saw a ro­bust dis­cus­sion of some of the big is­sues fac­ing agri­cul­ture in the re­gion.

Mayor Rachel Cham­bers kicked off the con­ver­sa­tion by in­tro­duc­ing a snapshot of the cur­rent is­sues rel­e­vant to agribusi­ness in the North Bur­nett.

Chal­lenges around transport routes and road in­fra­struc­ture, wa­ter re­li­a­bil­ity and fu­ture avail­abil­ity,

telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions, elec­tric­ity costs and veg­e­ta­tion man­age­ment were among some of the points of raised.

Fed­eral Mem­ber for Flynn, Ken O’Dowd MP joined more than forty peo­ple rep­re­sent­ing busi­ness, in­dus­try, lo­cal Govern­ment and a range of agen­cies gath­ered at the RM Wil­liams Aus­tralian Bush

Learn­ing Cen­tre in Eidsvold and wel­comed the sug­ges­tion for reg­u­lar Ag Net­work meet­ings through­out the North Bur­nett.

Transport will be the fo­cus of the next work­shop.
