Agriculture network transport workshop
THE first meeting of the North Burnett Ag Network was held in Eidsvold on May 3 and saw a robust discussion of some of the big issues facing agriculture in the region.
Mayor Rachel Chambers kicked off the conversation by introducing a snapshot of the current issues relevant to agribusiness in the North Burnett.
Challenges around transport routes and road infrastructure, water reliability and future availability,
telecommunications, electricity costs and vegetation management were among some of the points of raised.
Federal Member for Flynn, Ken O’Dowd MP joined more than forty people representing business, industry, local Government and a range of agencies gathered at the RM Williams Australian Bush
Learning Centre in Eidsvold and welcomed the suggestion for regular Ag Network meetings throughout the North Burnett.
Transport will be the focus of the next workshop.
