SPRING has sprung, the sun is shining and the school holidays are in full swing.

It’s an action-packed time of the year – there’s no shortage of things to do for revellers in the North Burnett looking for a fun day out with the family.

This weekend featured another successful edition of the Monto Dairy Festival.

The decision to move the date to September proved a good one, helping to attract plenty of holidaymakers from nearby Cania Gorge National Park.

But the few big events that remain can’t rely on the attendance of tourists.

With the 2018 racing carnival due to kick off in Eidsvold this weekend, it’s important to recognise that these events survive on the support of the community.

The Burnett race clubs know how to put on a show and everyone is encouraged to get out, have a good time and support their town this Spring Carnival.
