500 head were yarded at Monto Cat­tle and Coun­try’s fort­nightly Fat and Store Sale. Many of the cat­tle were start­ing to show the ef­fects of the dry weather.

Once again feeder cat­tle and meat­works cat­tle were solid while younger wean­ers were tougher to place.

Bulls sold from 219–247c/kg or $1965.

Mt Shaw Pas­toral sold Red Bran­gus bul­locks 580kg which sold to 258c/kg or $1500. Mt Shaw also sold Red Bran­gus cows 564kg for $1280 or 227c/kg.

S and P Leahy sold Santa cows to 225c/kg or $1280. Kevin Keiler penned Santa steers 413kg to re­alise $1070 or 260c/kg.

Alan Muller penned Drought­mas­ter cross feeder steers 433kg which re­turned $1106 or 255c/kg.

Neville and Jenny Keit­ley sold a run of No 8 Drought­mas­ter Brah­man cross steers for 264c/kg top­ping at $886. MD, RJ and WJ Brown’s Charo­lais Drought­mas­ter cross No 8 steers sold to $1040 or 263c/kg.

JD Colling­wood penned Char­bray weaner steers which re­turned $560 or 261c/kg. Ashen­hurst Part­ner­ship sold light Char­bray Drought­mas­ter cross No 8 steers for 258c/kg or $690.

Kevin Keiler penned Santa feeder heifers 380kg for 238c/kg or $910.

Ian Farmer sold Bran­gus No 8 heifers 321kg for 230c/kg or $738.

Hamp­son Graz­ing sold Brah­man cross feeder heifers 347kg for $810 or $233c/kg. M and L Simp­son sold Li­mousin cross weaner heifers 251kg for 225c/kg or $565. SP and HO Moss­man sold Brah­man cross No 8 heifers for 212c/kg or $485.

TOPX North Bur­nett held its fort­nightly Prime and Store Sale at Eidsvold on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 26. There was an in­creased yard­ing of 407 head of cat­tle, with steers sell­ing to a stronger mar­ket.

The yard­ing con­sisted mainly of young good qual­ity wean­ers.

Steers up to 200kg sold to 285c/kg.

Steers 200–300kg sold to 297c/kg.

Steers 300–400kg sold to 265c/kg.

Heifers up to 200kg sold to 220c/kg.

Heifers 200–300kg sold to 220c/kg.

Heifers 300–400kg sold to 230c/kg.

Cows 400–520kg sold to 210c/kg.

Sale high­lights

HK Dwyer sold Sim­men­tal cross steers for 297c/kg at 258kg re­turn­ing $768/head and also sold Char­bray heifers for 230c/kg at 317kg re­turn­ing $730/head.

Rudd Prop­erty Trust sold Char­bray cross cows for 210c/kg at 475kg re­turn­ing $997/head.
