Surprise for loved Moggs

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

KARMA has done a full circle for a Gayndah local with a generous spirit.

Ken Mogg is well known in the community for his generosity and support of local clubs, organisations and fundraisers.

Mr Mogg and his wife, Lorraine, have been part of the Gayndah community for many years and are always generous, despite any hardships they may be facing in their own lives.

Their business was severely affected by both the 2011 and 2013 floods and Mr Mogg is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

Despite this, they sponsored the entertainment for the Heidi Pringle Fundraising Auction and donated an auction item for the event on Saturday night.

Mr Mogg intended to be there in person to support the fundraiser and had told one of the event organisers, Amanda Wenck, that he wanted to bid on the holiday as he really wanted to take Lorraine away for a few days.

Knowing of his community spirit and current health battle, Ms Wenck decided to surprise him with the gift of a holiday.

“I made one phone call to Noosa Pacific Resort and told them Ken’s story, the receptionist said he had goosebumps and that he would speak to the managers, the next day the managers rang me and said they would love to donate a three-night holiday to a couple who so clearly deserve it,” she said.

GIFT: Ken and Lorraine Mogg.
