Good numbers come out for Sporters’ nine-hole stableford
GOLF: A much better week for Gayndah Golf Club, with 35 at Sporters and 15 for the weekend comp.
Congratulations to Vic Bryant for winning Sporters with 33 points.
Next weekend, as everyone knows, it’s the Gayndah races, so golf will be on Sunday.
A veterans’ nine-hole stroke competition took place on Tuesday, October 2 with 11 players. The winner was John Morgan with 26½ nett. Runner-up was Lindsay Baker on 31½ nett.
The pin shot on 14 went to Jill Seeley (3m). Most putts went to Vic Bryant (21).
A Sporters’ nine-hole stableford competition took place last Thursday with 35 players.
The winner was Vic Bryant on 33 points. Runnerup was John Mullally on 31 points. Second runner-up Peter Ulcoq had 29 points and third runner-up Matt Zillman 28 points.
The B-grade pin shot on five was claimed by Brad Schiffke and the A-grade on seven by Jason McCosker.
Most putts went to Reg Brown.
The Money Hole was taken out by Rob Randall (0.3m).
The weekend competition, 4BBB, took place last Saturday with 15 players.
Winners were Steve Jameson and Jason McCosker on 45 points, on a countback from runners-up Peter Ulcoq and Tom Jameson.
Pin shots went to: ladies on 1/10, Bev Emmerton (3.4m); B-grade on 7/16, Peter Ulcoq; A Grade on 9/18, Steve Jameson. Money Hole (not measured) was won by Steve Jameson.
