GOLF: A much bet­ter week for Gayn­dah Golf Club, with 35 at Sporters and 15 for the week­end comp.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Vic Bryant for win­ning Sporters with 33 points.

Next week­end, as ev­ery­one knows, it’s the Gayn­dah races, so golf will be on Sun­day.

A veter­ans’ nine-hole stroke com­pe­ti­tion took place on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 2 with 11 play­ers. The win­ner was John Morgan with 26½ nett. Run­ner-up was Lind­say Baker on 31½ nett.

The pin shot on 14 went to Jill See­ley (3m). Most putts went to Vic Bryant (21).

A Sporters’ nine-hole sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion took place last Thurs­day with 35 play­ers.

The win­ner was Vic Bryant on 33 points. Run­nerup was John Mul­lally on 31 points. Sec­ond run­ner-up Peter Ul­coq had 29 points and third run­ner-up Matt Zill­man 28 points.

The B-grade pin shot on five was claimed by Brad Schif­fke and the A-grade on seven by Ja­son McCosker.

Most putts went to Reg Brown.

The Money Hole was taken out by Rob Ran­dall (0.3m).

The week­end com­pe­ti­tion, 4BBB, took place last Satur­day with 15 play­ers.

Win­ners were Steve Jame­son and Ja­son McCosker on 45 points, on a count­back from run­ners-up Peter Ul­coq and Tom Jame­son.

Pin shots went to: ladies on 1/10, Bev Em­mer­ton (3.4m); B-grade on 7/16, Peter Ul­coq; A Grade on 9/18, Steve Jame­son. Money Hole (not mea­sured) was won by Steve Jame­son.
