■ VAR­I­OUS DAYS – CHIL­DREN’S STORYTIME: Check the coun­cil web­site, north­bur­nett.qld.gov.au, for times and days. Chil­dren’s Storytime is all about shar­ing sto­ries and rhymes, singing, talk­ing and play­ing. It is not just fun but good for lit­tle brains too. Head along to your town’s li­brary each week for a fun-filled in­ter­ac­tive ses­sion to en­hance your child’s lan­guage devel­op­ment. Phone 1300 696 272.

■ UN­TIL JAN­UARY 9 – PHO­TOG­RA­PHY EX­HI­BI­TION: I Told You So ex­hi­bi­tion by Kathrin Dierich from Banksia Beach will be on dis­play at Mun­dub­bera Art Gallery un­til Jan­uary 9.

■ 3–7 – GAYN­DAH LIONS CLUB: Sale of Christ­mas raf­fle tick­ets in from of IGA from noon to 5pm (also on De­cem­ber 10-12 and 14). On De­cem­ber 13 will be in front of Gayn­dah Newsagency from 9am to noon. Sold in five-ticket books for $5.

■ 7 CHRIST­MAS CAR­OLS AT BIGGEN­DEN STATE SCHOOL: Bar­be­cue starts at 6pm with steak burg­ers, sausage on bread, na­chos, soft drinks, lol­lies and chips will be avail­able. At 6.30pm in the un­der­cover pa­rade area, car­ols will be per­formed by the stu­dents. Open to the pub­lic.

■ 7 – OLD TIME DANCE: Dance the night away at the Coal­stoun Lakes monthly dance. Doors open at 6pm, en­try $8 with sup­per in­cluded.

■ 7 – CAR­OLS ON THE DECK: Monto Hospi­tal Aux­il­iary brings you Car­ols on the Deck from 6pm. Free en­try, car­ols, sausage siz­zle, soft drinks, chips, choco­late, raf­fles and Santa. BYO al­co­hol and chairs/blan­ket.

■ 7 – CHRIST­MAS FETE: St Matthews Angli­can Church at Gayn­dah will be host­ing its Christ­mas fete on the cor­ner of Cap­per and Meyer Sts from 5.30pm. There will be a bar­be­cue, va­ri­ety of stalls, ham wheel and chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties.

■ 9 MONTHLY MAR­KETS AT THE MT PERRY MU­SEUM. Stalls are $5 and $5 for an an­nual mem­ber­ship to cover in­di­vid­u­als for in­sur­ance pur­poses. Home made leather goods, bric-a-brac, plants and seedlings, cro­chet doilies, knit­ted items, arte­facts made from stain­less fords and spoons plus more. Break­fast from the Men’s Shed. ■ 12 – EIDSVOLD HOSPI­TAL AUX­IL­IARY AGM: The AGM of the Eidsvold Hospi­tal Aux­il­iary is be­ing held at Dot Hamil­ton’s home, start­ing at 6.30pm.

■ 16 – TOM CUR­TAIN SPEAK UP TOUR: At Monto Show­ground start­ing at 4pm. Mul­ti­ple Golden Gui­tar win­ner and horse­man will be per­form­ing his Kather­ine Out­back Ex­pe­ri­ence show of horse train­ing and work­ing dog demon­stra­tions fol­lowed by a live mu­sic per­for­mance.

■ 22 – BIGGEN­DEN APEX CHRIST­MAS FAIR: Be­ing held in Ed­ward St, Biggen­den from 5pm on­wards. Bar­be­cue, ham and seafood wheel, fire­works, kids rides, santa visit and mar­ket stalls, Don’t for­get to fill in you wheel­bar­row give­away voucher and re­turn to Biggen­den Bak­ery be­fore De­cem­ber 19. ■ 2-3 – MUN­DUB­BERA 7-A-SIDE CAR­NI­VAL: Men’s and ladies’ com­pe­ti­tion. More than $5000 in prize money plus other prizes to be won. Men’s team $80/team, ladies’ team $60/team. Sprint races. Nom­i­na­tions close Jan­uary 31. Satur­day night en­ter­tain­ment in­cludes cal­cutta of team at com­mu­nity cen­tre. Food and li­censed bar.

■ 9 – ROTARY CAR RALLY: Save the date for the Rotary Club of Monto’s an­nual Car Rally. All are wel­come.

March

■ 30 – MONTO RACES: Great fam­ily af­ter­noon en­joy­ing coun­try rac­ing at its best from 11.30am to 8pm. Five lo­cal races with Sky chan­nel for south­ern races. Fash­ions on the field events, chil­dren’s en­ter­tain­ment, cor­po­rate and wine/cheese ta­bles.
