Fire bans off
AS THE bushfire threat climbs, all fire permits have been cancelled for the North and South Burnett regions.
The ban was put in place at 8am yesterday and will remain until further notice.
“The dry and hot conditions across the regions have led to the decision,” said Gayndah Fire and Rescue Service captain Ron Mitchell. “We did expect that a ban would be put in place with the way the weather has been. “Yesterday afternoon we responded to a fire off the highway near Ban Ban Springs.”
If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call 000 immediately.
