CAMPDRAFT: Biggen­den Char­ity Campdraft Com­mit­tee would like to in­vite in­ter­ested per­sons to its an­nual meeting be­ing held on Tues­day, Fe­bru­ary 19 at 7pm at the Grand Ho­tel. JU­NIOR RUGBY LEAGUE: Childers Ju­nior Rugby League Club will have a come and try day on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 9 at the Childers Show­grounds at 2pm. There will be a sausage siz­zle. The club uses mod­i­fied rules for ju­niors and has ex­pe­ri­enced, qual­i­fied coaches. For more in­for­ma­tion con­tact the club at childer­sju­nior­rugby league@hot­mail.com. IN­DOOR BOWLS: In­door so­cial bowls at Gayn­dah RSL Hall had its first night back for the year and there wasn't much sign of hol­i­day rust in ev­ery­one's per­for­mances. High­est score of the night was Boyd Baker on 52, fol­lowed by Rita Alsemgeest 48, Kit Ge­orge 46, Muriel Glover 38, Gary Tay­lor 32, and Mar­garet Formice and JJ Turner both 18. All are wel­come. Held Thurs­days at 7pm for a 7.30 start.

GOLF: Gayn­dah Golf Club has a busy month ahead. On Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 2, they will host a two Ball Am­brose over 18 holes for Gayn­dah Open­ing Day, tee­ing off at 12.30pm. The fol­low­ing Satur­day will be the 4BBB Sta­ble­ford with match­play qual­i­fy­ing. The day af­ter, Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 10, is the Biggen­den Men’s Car­ni­val. Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 16 will see a 3 Ball Am­brose for the Tay­lor McCosker Or­ange Fes­ti­val fundraiser and on the next Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 23, the Monthly Medal.

The club’s monthly meeting is on the evening of Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 18.

Last Tues­day, Vic Bryant won the veter­ans 9-hole stroke com­pe­ti­tion with a net score of 28, fol­lowed by Jim My­ers on 29-and-a-half. Norma Burns won the putting com­pe­ti­tion and Di Baker earned spe­cial men­tion for a pin­shot on hole 14.

Reg Brown bested 25 other con­tenders on the Sporters 9-hole Sta­ble­ford that Thurs­day with 30 points, just ahead of Brad Schif­fke, also on 30, and Al­lan MiMi on 28. Matt Zill­man and Tom Jame­son both hit pin­shots, on holes five and seven re­spec­tively.

CRICKET: Although they have had a sea­son to for­get, the Bris­bane Heat BBL cricket team of 2018/19 have been kind enough to au­to­graph a bat and do­nate it to the Mun­dub­bera 7-a-side cricket car­ni­val. The bat will be auc­tioned at the com­mu­nity evening on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 2 at the Mun­dub­bera Com­mu­nity Cen­tre. Happy hour will run from 6–7pm.
