Lucy Croser (daugh­ter of Brian, founder of Pe­taluma and Ta­panappa) and hus­band Xavier Bi­zot (from the fam­ily be­hind Bollinger Cham­pagne and more) are es­sen­tially a wine royal fam­ily. Their own Terre à Terre la­bel grows pre­mium fruit on the Crayères vine­yard on 37-mil­lion-year -old soils in Wrat­ton­bully, South Aus­tralia.

CRAYERES VINE­YARD SAU­VI­GNON BLANC, 2017

Re­fined light trop­i­cal pas­sion­fruit and re­fresh­ing lemon/lime cit­rus. A base nut cream note is present from lees stir­ring dur­ing bar­rel mat­u­ra­tion. Finely boned with crys­talline acid­ity. An im­pres­sive wine of length, del­i­cacy and tex­ture. Rat­ing: 9/10 RRP: $40 Alc: 12.9%

CRAYERES VINE­YARD CABER­NET FRANC, 2016

Dusty vi­o­lets, black­cur­rant, black olives, musk, eucalypt blos­som. Beau­ti­fully bal­anced palate: abun­dant with black­cur­rant, dusty tan­nin and a vi­o­let fin­ish. One of the finest caber­net franc ex­am­ples in the coun­try. Rat­ing: 9.25/10 RRP: $40 Alc: 14.2%

CRAYERES VINE­YARD CABER­NET SAU­VI­GNON, 2016

With a 9 per cent splash of caber­net franc, the flag­ship red ex­cites with pure Bel­gian choco­late, cas­sis, re­gional men­thol, licorice and rose petals. Medium-bod­ied with mesh-like tan­nins.
