Burnett hair stylists a cut above the rest

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

A TRIO of North Burnett hairdressers have been named as finalists in a prestigious annual hair colouring competition.

As there are only 12 finalists announced Australia-wide, this means 25 per cent of them are from the North Burnett.

Nikki Guyatt-Linsket from Angela’s Hair and Beauty in Gayndah, and Deb Ford and Saanich Pope from Classic Cuts Hair Salon in Mundubbera made the cut in the 2019 Pure Colour Competition.

“I love making people feel good and I find hairdressing personally very satisfying. I’m grateful for the support I receive,” Ms Ford, a hairdresser of 20 years, said.

“I can’t change the world but I can change your hair.”

Ms Ford gave model Yana Holmes a “candy” colour.

“I tried to create a fairy floss look by teasing my model’s hair for the effect,” she said.

Meanwhile, Saanich Pope, who will complete her apprenticeship this year, lightened her sister Skye Pope’s hair into a “light mocha colour”.

“I curled it into very tight curls to create a strong cultural presence,” she said.

“Life is too short to have boring hair.”
