Touch returns to Eidsvold
IT HAS been a while since Eidsvold’s hosted a touch football competition, but the glory days will be relived on Saturday as Eidsvold Against Asthma puts touch football at the centre of its annual Family Fun Day this year.
Kicking off at 9am, the seven-a-side touch football competition will pit the Burnett’s against each other.
Organiser Sharaina Leha is looking for any last-minute team nominations. To nominate, call her on 0456 043 625.
The Family Fun Day will also feature kids’ entertainment such as face painting, market stalls, food and drink, ice cream, prizes and more.
There will also be other competitions on offer, including the 100m dash.
This is the first year the Family Fun Day has been hosted since 2016, the year Ms Leha lost her younger brother to asthma.
The Star Hotel Eidsvold is hosting this year’s Gammin Jammin after-party, featuring the Woorabinda band, a hip hop collective from indigenous communities right across Queensland.
The pub will also be putting on a full buffet dinner from 7pm.
