Tiffany honoured with win

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

FOR Eidsvold resident Tiffany Newcombe, it was just another day at the office on Sunday, January 26.

Out mustering on her family’s property in the Sunshine Coast and Gympie region, she had no clue she had won the young citizen of the year award for Eidsvold.

“It was an honour to be nominated, and I’m very thankful to receive this award,” Ms Newcombe said.

“I’ve been lucky to be supported and welcomed in the community, and I just want to help out wherever I can.”

Ms Newcombe works at the RM Williams tourist centre for the council, but offers her time to several parts of the community.

This includes helping with the Eidsvold Camp draft, cattle drives, the Eidsvold Show Society, and more.

Nominated by Eidsvold icon and former jackaroo Marshall Langston, Tiffany has been happy to call Eidsvold her home for the past three years.

“Because it’s a welcoming country town, with a beautiful feel,” she said.
