Coun­cil ad­vises that at its Gen­eral Meet­ing held 15 Jan­uary 2020, it adopted a Biose­cu­rity Pro­gram for the Sur­veil­lance of In­va­sive Pest Species for 2020-21.

Coun­cil re­spect­fully no­ti­fies all mem­bers of the pub­lic of the up­com­ing pro­gram and presents its ob­jec­tives as fol­lows;

Con­firm the pres­ence, and find out the ex­tent of the pres­ence in the North Bur­nett area of the pro­hib­ited and re­stricted mat­ter to which the pro­gram re­lates;

a. Con­firm the ab­sence in the North Bur­nett area of any pro­hib­ited mat­ter; b. Mon­i­tor the ef­fects of mea­sures taken in re­sponse to a biose­cu­rity risk posed by in­va­sive biose­cu­rity mat­ter is to as­sist in the con­fir­ma­tion, pres­ence, ex­tent and ab­sence of pro­hib­ited or re­stricted mat­ter, mon­i­tor the ef­fects and mea­sures taken in re­sponse to a biose­cu­rity risk. A copy of the Pro­gram (in­clud­ing its au­tho­ri­sa­tion) will be avail­able for in­spec­tion at the North Bur­nett Re­gional Coun­cil Cus­tomer Ser­vice Cen­tres.
