Social easy-to-do dancing in Mulgildie
GET ready to strap on your dancing shoes and make the roadtrip to Mulgildie.
The Mulgildie Hall Dance will be held on Saturday, February 15, for Valentine’s Day, for all those romantics in the North Burnett.
Mulgildie Hall vice-president Ivan Dunkley said it was an annual dance event, with special guests from Monto, Silver Comets, playing that night.
“They’ll be playing all the old favourites, from Cruising down the river to Irish eyes are smiling,” Mr Dunkley said.
“We’ll also be picking a Valentine’s Day couple for the special day.
“And they’ll get the pleasure of getting a bottle of wine, sitting at a table, a photo taken as they’re crowned Mr and Ms Valentine.”
Mr Dunkley, a dance teacher himself, wants to disregard the label of old time dancing.
“We’re not in the 1930s anymore, we’re in 2020,” he said.
“There are some very nice dances that have been developed in the last 20-30 years, and we have dances for all ages.”
Starting at 7.30pm, there will be lucky door and novelty prizes on the evening.
