Ingredients for a night of romance
ROMANTIC, high class and, most importantly, affordable dining — that is what patrons will find at the Mundubbera Motel and Restaurant on Valentine’s Day.
On February 14, owners Mark and Jacki Wuersching will once again open the doors of their restaurant to the couples of the North Burnett after a staggeringly successful first run last year.
The Wuerschings’ Allawah Bar & Grill restaurant is set to be transformed into a candlelit hall of romance where lovers can enjoy a two or threecourse dinner and even a complimentary drink.
“On Valentine’s Day, we’re really trying to set the mood and bring a fine-dining experience,” said Mr Wuersching.
“I’ve designed the menu to aim for that.”
The menu features a mix of last year’s most popular dishes and several new creations by Mr Wuersching himself.
Patrons can choose from fresh seafood, succulent meats and vegetarian options, all complemented by delicious sides and sauces.
Those wishing to share a sweet treat with their sweetheart will also not be disappointed, selecting from a choice of pavlova, panna cotta or homemade ice cream.
To offer dining couples a romantic atmosphere both inside and outside, a new set of fairy lights around the motel and restaurant has recently been added.
“We want to take it to that next level,” said Mr Wuersching of his plans for the business.
“We are currently doing major changes in the kitchen to try and be able to maintain quality, quantity and to offer new things.”
After a sellout debut last year, the Wuerschings urge those interested in a Valentine’s Day dinner for two to book ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
The family hopes the North Burnett’s lovers will continue to enjoy their Valentine’s Day service for years to come, and promise they will endeavour to improve every time.
“We want to keep doing what we’ve been doing, but better,” Mr Wuersching said.
“And provide it all for an affordable price.”
