NETBALL: Gayndah’s netball finals came to a fast-paced conclusion, which ended when Just4Play prevailed against Blue Cow.

The two mixed netball teams came out firing on Monday, as they vied for sporting glory.

Just4Play’s Jason and Maria McCosker and Sally Jolly set the pace in the first quarter, producing relentless offensive attacks.

Blue Cow’s Lisa Baker, Jayne Evens and Mitch Baker were at a loss on how to stop the onslaught, trailing 2–6 at the first break.

A change of positions by both teams saw Just4Play capitalise on several loose balls in the second quarter.

Accurate shooting paid dividends for Just4Play, keeping the lead of 12–8 at halftime.

The third quarter saw a brave fight back from Blue Cow, with subbing changes allowing them to come within reach, ending the third quarter on 14–12.

Just4Play’s determination for every loose ball, partnered with their smooth ball movement, shut down any chance of a comeback for Blue Cow, winning the match 23–13.

Trophies were presented to the undefeated Just4Play as winners of the 2019–20 season.

Karen Mendoza and Tom Holt were named best and fairest players for the season for their tireless efforts.
