North Burnett events fall victim to COVID-19
THE increasing precautionary measures and restrictions being put in place across the country in response to the coronavirus pandemic have resulted in the cancellation of a number of North Burnett events.
Organisers of several events decided to cancel plans for the coming months this week.
Here’s the full list of events we know about so far that have been cancelled, postponed, as well as those still going ahead.
19: Gayndah’s Meet and Greet evening held by the Gayndah Development Association has been postponed. The date to be advised.
19: Biggenden’s Meet the Candidates evening has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. It was meant to be held at Biggenden Memorial Hall at 7pm.
20: The North Burnett Leadership Series, Workshop #3: Storytelling via Social Media Workshop in Biggenden has been cancelled.
21: The Wide Bay Rangers representative trials scheduled for Saturday have been cancelled due to the cancellation of the 2020 47th Battalion Carnival.
24–25: The Governance
Workshops in Biggenden and Mundubbera have been postponed until further notice.
22–28: The Rural Aid Farm Army was due to visit Gayndah for the 10 Towns Makeover.
This visit been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
25: The Australian Army Band was scheduled to play at the Gayndah Showgrounds from 6.30–8pm. This has been cancelled.
27: Mundubbera P&C’s Variety Night at the Mundubbera Town Hall has been cancelled.
28–29: The Eidsvold Golden
Bell campdraft has been postponed to a new date. All nomination fees will be refunded this week.
28: Local government elections are still scheduled to go ahead
11: The Gayndah Show has unfortunately had to be cancelled due to virus concerns.
18: The Eidsvold Cattle Drive Inc Camp Oven Dinner has been cancelled. President Bruce Tye said it was due to the uncertainty of the coronavirus. All the patrons will be refunded.
18: The Mount Perry Show has also been cancelled for this year.
3: The Eidsvold Show is still planned to go ahead.
8: The Mundubbera Show is still planned to go ahead.

EVENTS CANCELLED: Kimberley Fisher, Stephanie Flint, Mikela Ross, Chloe Scanlan and Jessica Jackson at the 2019 Gayndah Show which will not be held this year due to the coronavirus outbreak.
