Dr McMa­hon sug­gests the fol­low­ing guide­lines:

• Go for a solo run to en­sure you stay safe

• Main­tain your so­cial dis­tance by run­ning in non­crowded ar­eas, and run at qui­eter times of day

• Stick within your sub­urb so you are close to home, and avoid touch­ing things on your route, such as taps

• Try not to touch or wipe your face dur­ing your run, and make sure you thor­oughly wash your hands with soap and wa­ter when you re­turn home

• Stay at home if you are sick
