Host an ex­ten­sion trainee for a year

THE Queens­land Farm­ers’ Fed­er­a­tion is look­ing for up to six host or­gan­i­sa­tions to men­tor early-ca­reer ex­ten­sion of­fi­cers.

The suc­cess­ful host or­gan­i­sa­tion can re­ceive up to $80,000 to de­liver the 12month pro­ject.

The Queens­land Gov­ern­ment is work­ing in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Queens­land Farm­ers’ Fed­er­a­tion to de­liver the Agri­cul­tural Work Place­ment pro­gram.

Af­ter the suc­cess­ful de­liv­ery of a pi­lot pro­gram that of­fers ben­e­fits to all those in­volved, they are of­fer­ing or­gan­i­sa­tions a chance to be in­volved in an im­proved work place­ment pro­gram.

Pre­vi­ous or­gan­i­sa­tions in­volved in the pi­lot pro­gram be­lieved the pro­gram was an ex­cel­lent process to train new grad­u­ates.

It is an­tic­i­pated that the trainees will de­velop ex­per­tise in one or more of the fol­low­ing ar­eas: land man­age­ment, wa­ter qual­ity, soil health, and nu­tri­ent and pest man­age­ment.
