Cotton property on market again
THE iconic Gundaline Station, one of Australia’s largest irrigated cotton farming properties, has been listed for sale after just two years under the ownership of Dutch-based fund Optifarm.
The 14,916ha property, located near Carrathool in NSW’S Murrumbidgee Valley, was purchased by Optifarm, in April 2018 for a reported $60$65 million. The Dutch fund purchased the property from Southern Agricultural Resources, which acquired the station in 2014 from the Twynam Agricultural Group for a reported $25 million.
Gundaline Station has access to both surface and groundwater, with significant water entitlements including 12,500ML of Lower Murrumbidgee zone two groundwater and 2329ML of Murrumbidgee River Supplementary water.
It has an approved extraction limit of 18,000ML of groundwater per year, with a daily capacity of more than 120ML a day for six bores.
The property features a 20km river frontage as well as a range of soil types for row crops or permanent plantings.
