Light of industry

Central and North Rural Weekly - - RURAL WEEKLY - KEVIN BORG Columnist

CANEGROWERS Mackay has had a long and productive relationship with the Rural Weekly, which has given us the opportunity to communicate on the issues important to us in the sugar industry.

I’d like to thank the hardworking journalists who have unerringly turned up for field days and workshops, conferences and launches, annual general meetings and information meetings in our industry, to keep growers and the wider community up to date with news that mattered to our sector.

More than that, though, I thank the Rural Weekly for shining a light on the backbone of the industry, our canegrowing families and their unique stories about farm life and running successful farm businesses.

Thanks Rural Weekly for giving the sugar industry a voice over many years.

National Farmers Federation president Fiona Simson with Canegrowers Mackay chairman Kevin Borg.
