A busy day for po­lice in Emer­ald

EMER­ALD po­lice were kept busy last Fri­day fol­low­ing a num­ber of of­fences oc­cur­ring around the small coun­try town:

■ About 12.05am they in­ter­cepted a Ford util­ity on Hos­pi­tal Rd. A 23-year-old male from Emer­ald sup­plied a read­ing of 0.209 and was charged with high-range drink-driv­ing.

■ About 10.30am Emer­ald po­lice in­ter­cepted a ve­hi­cle on the Capricorn High­way and searched the ve­hi­cle.

It is al­leged po­lice iden­ti­fied a quan­tity of dan­ger­ous drugs and charged a 46-year-old male from the Gem­fields with pos­ses­sion of dan­ger­ous drugs.

■ About 10.50am po­lice in­ter­cepted a ve­hi­cle on Opal St. A 48-year-old male sup­plied a read­ing of 0.108 and was charged with mid-range drink-driv­ing.

■ About 11am two peo­ple were de­tained dur­ing a search on Roberts St. It is al­leged po­lice iden­ti­fied a quan­tity of dan­ger­ous drugs, in­clud­ing cannabis and metham­phetamine, as well as uten­sils. A 29-year-old fe­male from Emer­ald was charged with pos­ses­sion of dan­ger­ous drugs, pos­ses­sion of uten­sils and ob­struct­ing po­lice. A 24-year-old male from Kelso was charged with ob­struct­ing po­lice.

■ About 5pm po­lice ex­e­cuted a search war­rant at an ad­dress and as a re­sult it is al­leged po­lice lo­cated a quan­tity of cannabis and drug uten­sil. A 37-year-old fe­male from Emer­ald was charged in re­la­tion to this mat­ter.

■ About 8.15pm they were de­tailed to at­tend a sin­gle-ve­hi­cle traf­fic crash on the cor­ner of Roberts and White Sts. Ini­tial in­ves­ti­ga­tions re­vealed a Toy­ota wagon col­lided with a power pole caus­ing ex­ten­sive dam­age. Fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions in re­la­tion to this mat­ter are con­tin­u­ing and po­lice are ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion from the pub­lic.
