Farewell to senior students
Year 6 students are ready to move on to high school
THE year is almost at an end but at Moranbah State School things are still going full steam ahead. The last term of school is always a busy time for everyone.
Teachers are reporting and conducting assessments.
Senior students are prepping themselves for high school.
The administration staff are busy meeting new preps for 2019, conducting interviews and transition days. But it is not all work, there is also a full term of fun as well.
OUR Prep students went on an excursion to Coles and got to go behind the scenes.
The Preps met the bakers and got to go through the bakery part of Coles and learnt how the breads, biscuits and buns are made daily.
They explored the fruit and veg section and saw how the food is prepared. There was so much fun had by all.
WE ALSO hosted an instrumental music concert which had all the three schools in Moranbah come together for a combined concert.
It was a wonderful night for all to enjoy, listening to the music.
Farewell Year 6
WE WILL also have this term carols, book fair, swimming carnivals, crazy hair day, captain speeches, award night and saying goodbye to our Year 6 students.
I asked a few of our senior students what they will miss about Moranbah State School and what they are looking forward to with high school:
“I’m looking forward to meeting all my friends from East State School and seeing the old Year 6s from last year. I’m going to miss all the teachers in our school and Mrs Ward and Mrs Williams for helping the Year 6 cohort in assessments. I will miss everybody and everything.” “For the past seven years, Moranbah State School has taught me to push myself to the best of my ability. I am sad to leave but I am also looking forward to the friendships and the rest of my schooling at Moranbah State School.” “This year was an amazing year, with new friends and old friends with me, and I hope next year will be the same. The main thing I will miss is the style of Moranbah State School. I have been accustomed to the layout of the school and next year I may get lost!” The staff at Moranbah State School will miss our seniors as they head off to high school. Good luck team!
