BILOELA-born DJ and producer Brooke Elliott, whose stage name is Brooklyn, has made it big, with her first single officially released today.

The summer anthem, Foolish, has been released on Ministry of Sound’s Hussle Recordings label and Brooke said it takes you back to those “balmy summer days”.

“Foolish is a house track with a memorable melody that immediately uplifts your mood and takes you to those balmy summer days,” she said.

Now based in Melbourne, Brooke said the track was something that could be played in both nightclubs and during chilled-out Sunday sessions.

“When I started writing the instrumentals for what was to become my very first single my mind kept drawing back to summertime, going to music festivals, partying in nightclubs and backing it up with a Sunday session,” she said.

“I really wanted to write a catchy tune with a real sense of summertime ambiance that could be blasted in the nightclubs as well as something that was easy listening while tanning by the pool or beach.”

Brooke, who attended Biloela State School and Biloela State High School, started her DJ career five years ago and has since claimed every major dance floor around the country and toured the north and south of Vietnam alongside soccer superstar David Beckham.

She said 2018 was always going to be about writing her own music and achieving the dream of releasing tracks.

“Foolish has been about two years in the making because I kept coming back to it in between other music projects; I am such a perfectionist and wasn’t going to release it until I was 100 per cent happy with it,” she said.

Brooke is already working on her second and third songs.

“I am continually working on new music,” she said.

Brooke will spend the next three months touring to promote her new single with the national tour to begin this weekend before she head to Asia to perform and then returns to the Gold Coast in November.

“If there are any Biloela High peeps who are going to Schoolies on the Gold Coast, come say hey, I love meeting people who come from my home town,” she said.

PARTY TIME: Brooke Elliott (aka Brooklyn) will be touring the nation to promote her new single.
