THIS week at Banana State School, the P&C has been conducting Book Fair each day in the school library.

This annual event is highly anticipated by students and adults who use it as an opportunity to purchase quality gifts for young readers.

The Banana P&C buys a book from Book Fair for each student which is presented on Awards Day.

This has been a long standing tradition at Banana State School.

Each student was given the opportunity on Monday to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

The P&C presented three prizes, $20 vouchers to spend at Book Fair.

The winners were William Kurtz, alias Lego Man, McKennon Haley and Ty Murray from King of the Cowboys and Mia Urquhart who dressed as Hermione from the Harry Potter series.

Everyone at Banana State School values the Book Fair weeks as the proceeds provide more books for our library.

All children who visit Book Fair are encouraged to read new books as part of their everyday routine.

At Banana State School we’re all about student improvement and reading is the key to unlocking academic growth at every year level in every learning area.
