Char­lotte’s mes­sage a win­ner

THE work of a Jam­bin State School stu­dent will fea­ture in the 2019 edi­tion of Work­place Health and Safety Queens­land’s farm safety cal­en­dar.

Tal­ented Year 2 pupil Char­lotte Den­nis was se­lected as one of 12 win­ners of a state-wide draw­ing com­pe­ti­tion that at­tracted more than 1800 en­tries, smash­ing the previous best of 700.

While win­ning schools re­ceived $500, each of the 12 suc­cess­ful artists took home a $250 voucher and Char­lotte knows ex­actly how she’ll spend hers.

“I’ll prob­a­bly go to the shops,” she said.

“Dad thinks I should put it all in my bank, maybe I’ll put some in the bank and save it.

“I was so ex­cited (when I found out I had won). I think I’m pretty lucky – I love my school.

“On the farm you must work safely, you need to wear safety gear, like boots, gloves, ear and eye pro­tec­tion.
