Warm­ing up for Moura Christ­mas car­ols

MOURA will kick off Christ­mas cel­e­bra­tions this week­end with its an­nual com­mu­nity Christ­mas car­ols.

The car­ols are set to fea­ture a num­ber of com­mu­nity groups, in­clud­ing Oa­sis Band, Capri­cante Singers, Moura State High School vo­cal group, Moura Kinder­garten and Kids Oa­sis.

Santa is said to make an ap­pear­ance.

Pas­tor at Oa­sis Church in Moura and com­mu­nity Christ­mas car­ols or­gan­iser Ju­lian Young said he looked for­ward to the com­mu­nity com­ing to­gether to cel­e­brate Christ­mas.

“I think Christ­mas is a great time for peo­ple to come to­gether,” he said.

“In our com­mu­nity, so of­ten we are all so busy, scat­tered and spread out, es­pe­cially in this day and age.

“So, any time where great por­tions of the com­mu­nity come to­gether and cel­e­brate some­thing in com­mon, I think that’s a won­der­ful thing.”

The Moura Com­mu­nity Christ­mas Car­ols will take place on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 2, at Kianga Hall, Moura. Doors open at 5.45pm with car­ols com­menc­ing at 6.30pm.

Food will be avail­able through­out the evening.
