Master Blast Cup
OUR Redeemer girls’ cricket team participated in the finals of the Central Queensland Woolworths Master Blast School Cup in Rockhampton a week ago.
While the girls didn’t come home with the overall win, they showed amazing sportsmanship and teamwork. The girls should be extremely proud of their efforts, especially in the heat today. A huge thank you to Kim Creed, Mel and Brian Currier for helping out your support and assistance was much appreciated.
Harvey the Bear
HARVEY the Bear who has been part of the Prep Curriculum for the last 15 years celebrated his birthday last Monday.
Students were allowed to dress up as their favourite animal. Games, entertainment and yummy bear themed food were enjoyed by all.
Harvey is part of a social skill program where the students take him home in turns where he gets to experience home life on weekends.
Students then submit photos and a recount of Harvey’s travels and experiences.
They also are allowed to use Harvey when in need of a cuddle.
WE HAD a great night watching the Year 7,8 and 9 Entrepreneur Project teams present their business ideas to the Shark Tank.
The driving question was “prove that sustainability can be profitable” and not only did they deliver great business plans, but survived the scrutiny of the Sharks!
Another impressive showcase of student work.
WE started the day with a lovely announcement.
The beautiful Miss Busch and her beau Troy got engaged on the weekend.
We wish them all the best.
Cheer and dance
WHEW! What a big weekend!
The Redeemer Team did so well, placing fourth in pom and third in hip hop.
They didn’t place for their cheer routine but did a great job.
There were even schools from New Zealand and China in this year’s Scholastic Championship! It is a fantastic experience. This year there were also Club Nationals running so the venue set up is incredible to see - four different stages running simultaneously, 12,000 competitors and 17,000 spectators over the four days. Our little country town team showed them very clearly that you don’t have to be from the big smoke to make an impression!
