Vandals strike maze
THE Biloela Melton Park maze was vandalised last weekend with graffiti sprayed and fencing slats smashed leaving pieces scattered everywhere. Police are investigating the serious matter.
MALICIOUS destruction at the Melton Park maze on Grevillea St, has astounded mums Loretta Price and Meghan Wilton, who questioned why anyone would do this.
Loretta said she was disappointed about the graffiti as it exposed young children to the bad language used.
“I’m teaching my son Thomas to read and sound out words and when he sees the words used on the signs, they are not appropriate,” Loretta said.
“This sort of thing takes away from the maze and with school holidays coming up, it’s a good place to bring children.
“It has not been here very long and it’s very disappointing to see.”
Meghan expressed serious concern about who was going to pay for the cost of repairs.
There were slats kicked in along the picket lines inside and outside the maze.
Biloela Police Senior Sergeant Nick Paton said the vandalism was being investigated.
“It happened last weekend and found by a council worker and we are investigating the matter,” Sen-Sgt Paton said.
“There is CCTV footage of the park and we will hopefully get some of what happened.”
Anyone with information about the vandalism can phone Biloela Police Station on 4992 2333 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
