IT’S Christmas time! Peace and goodwill to all men and women.

During this time of fun and festivity, please take care whether you are at home or going away for Christmas Day and Boxing Day and the New Year celebrations.

However you want to celebrate - a pool party or an improvised plastic sheet for a water slide - have fun but don’t go overboard.

The Biloela community is again helping to make this part of the world a good place to live.

On Christmas Eve, the local fireys will be doing laps of Biloela giving out lollies to the kids and maybe some of the bigger ones.

The Biloela Skate Park has re-opened and I’m sure there will be plenty of kids keen to try their scooters and skateboards on it.

And a sporting tragic note to the players of backyard cricket: It’s NOT the Gabba, SCG, MCG or the Ashes, it’s a makeshift pitch with a tennis ball wrapped in electrical tape and a wheelie bin for a set of wickets.

The rules are simple with an automatic keeper if you snick it behind, can’t get out first ball and you can catch it one bounce left handed.

There is no paper during Christmas week, but we will be back on January 4 with all the news you love to read.
