Shijia Hutong Museum:
As urbanization advances, many quadrangles in Beijing have been given a protected status as architectural heritages. The Shijia Hutong Museum is renovated from the former residence of Ling Shuhua, one of the three talented women during the period of the Republic of China (1912-1949). The compound has two layers of courtyards, and hosts eight exhibition halls and one multi-purpose hall. The exhibits there represent the old ways of hutong life. There are two rooms preserving the decoration and arrangement of Beijing households in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.
